Gordon Robertson BEng MSc IEng AMIStructE MCIOB FFB established the company in 1997 to provide Professional Consultancy Services to Clients involved in the Property and Construction Industry. Mark Docherty BSc CEng MIStructE became a Director in 2005, having previously worked as a Consultant for a number of years. Gary Havlin BSc(Hons) is our Graduate Engineer and George O McNair CEng MICE and James M Winning CEng MICE are employed as Consultants. Yvonne McLaren-Robertson BA CA is our Financial Director.

Since being established the company has developed considerable experience in structural works having carried out over 1350 commissions for various private and corporate clients covering all sectors of the industry.

As Building Consultants and Structural Engineers we provide a full range of consultancy services from initial feasibility through design, obtaining permissions, construction to final completion. We aim to provide an enthusiastic and reliable professional service to ensure economic, innovative and practical engineering solutions to all projects.

GJR Limited carry out the design of all structural elements including foundations, reinforced concrete, structural steelwork, masonry and brickwork, timber and various other non-traditional materials. Designs are prepared in accordance with the relevant British Standards, European Standards, Codes of Practise and the Building (Scotland) Regulations.

Residential projects form a significant part of our work, both for private clients and Developers. Project values range from £1k to £750k and include; alterations to tenemental and townhouse properties, attic/ garage conversions, feature alterations / extensions to existing homes and new-build one-off housing projects.

We offer Building Design and Structural Design Services for Local Authority (Building Warrant) submissions including undertaking dimensional surveys within properties and production of scale plans etc, and/ or the preparation of Structural Design calculations / detailed Structural drawings and the provision of Structural Design (SER) Certificates. GJR Limited is an Approved Body for the Certification of Design (Building Structures).

While the majority of our projects are within West Central Scotland we have been involved with projects in Edinburgh, Stirling, Perth, Dundee, Braemar, Elgin, Barra, Uig and Stornoway. We would be interested in discussing any client projects within Scotland in general.
